Placing the textures as smart objects, and using adjustment layers to tweak them, allows us to stick to a non-destructive workflow. Every time we’ll work with textures, we’ll follow this simple process: place as smart object, sharpen 1, desaturate, enhance contrast with levels, and modify the blending mode.
